Reclaim Lost Menards Rebate Checks

If you live in the Midwest and shop enough at Menards to frequently mail in their rebates, there’s a chance you may have never received or redeemed a rebate you submitted. Seems to me like Menards has basically had a non-stop 11% rebate promotion since COVID 19 started which can result in relatively larger than usual rebate check being issued compared to their typical single item rebates offers.

I don’t know how many human beings actually track their rebates from Menards, but since I mailed in a bunch of rebates over the summer I figured I should probably take a look so I entered my name and address into their rebate tracker and discovered there was a rebate check issued in June that I never received for whatever reason:

I’m willing to bet the rebate check just got lost in the mail because the U.S. Postal Service has been having a lot of problems recently and has just been plain terrible lately (I’m still waiting on a package from USPS since July). The rebate tracking website isn’t totally clear on what you should do when a rebate check is lost or never redeemed, so I just used their contact form to request a new rebate check be issued:

A few days after I submitted my message I received an email response that a new rebate check would be re-issued. Not sure how many people this information might be helpful to, but I figured since this also happened to my parents a couple years ago, this could probably be a little more common than people realize.

They reissued my rebate check 3 separate times. Never came. Pretty sure they are scamming a few people now.

I bought a refrigerator last spring and some other items which netted me a rebate of nearly $170.00 . STILL have not received rebate, acknowledgement or any kind. I am beginning to thinkthis is just a scam to get us to purchase items from Menards. SO what givaes.

Menards knows who they sent those rebate check to. If they are never redeemed for whatever reason, Menards can not keep the money. Those monies are considered unclaimed property and need to be forwarded to the applicable state’s Controller’s office. Is Menards escheating unclaimed funds to the applicable customer’s state Controller? If not, Menards is breaking the law.
