Deal: 15% Off Target Gift Cards December 5th – 6th

Target is having their annual 10% off gift card sale this weekend, so if you frequently shop at Target then this may be a great deal for you.

Since my family shops at Target often, I usually purchase one or two thousand in Target gift cards during these sales every year, but the offer this time around is a little more restrictive in that you need to be a member of Target’s reward program:

But the biggest change is to get the 10% discount, available in-store and online, you have to be a member of Target Circle, Targetโ€™s free loyalty program. The discount can be used only for one transaction at Target or Target.com per Target Circle account, according to the offer’s details.

The best part about this offer is that you can stack it with the Discover It credit card to get an additional 5% off your gift card purchase, to make it essentially 15% off Target gift cards.1 Note that according to Discover’s fine print, you would need to make your gift card purchase on Target.com or through the Target app to receive the 5% back through Discover. You can read how I utilize the Discover It credit card to maximize my cash back here, but once again, if you already know you’re going to spend a certain amount at a certain store in the near future, then why not pay less and earn cash back while your at it?

  1. I rounded to 15%, but for those who are good at math, it’s actually a 14.5% total discount on the gift cards since, using a $100 Target gift card for example, you’d save $10 from the Target promo in addition to getting $4.50 cash back, or 5% back on the $90 charge to your Discover card.
